Q&A With Pam Houston

Y'all-- I know I usually run author interviews over here, but in the interest of getting some more traffic for my Pam Houston interview, I went ahead and posted it over at my spikeg.com blog. Please do check it out. Pam is one of my absolute favorite writers and she made a lot of time to answer my endless list of questions. She'll be at BookPeople on May 26, 2012 at 7 pm reading from her new book, Contents May Have Shifted, which is magnificent.

Summer Writing Workshop Registration is Open

Hey Y'all,
The next Six Week Writing Workshop runs Thursdays, June 14 - July 19, 7 - 9 pm. Cost is $300. I'm running a little special between now and May 31-- $250 total.

About the workshop: this is for folks who are into first person/memoir/blog writing. It is not a fiction workshop. Also, please note that while in some ways this series might resemble a more "traditional" (whatever the hell that means) workshop, we also veer off down many roads along the way, so plan on attending with an open mind. You'll have a chance to work on your writing, present it in class (if you want), and garner feedback from teacher and group. You'll learn (a little bit) about the business side of writing and (a lot about) the ways writing can make your life a whole lot better.

Above all you'll have a safe, positive environment to work on your writing, whether you're new to the practice or have been keeping a diary since first grade. All levels welcome, and all goals welcome whether you are hoping to "just" write for release or have your eyes on a book contract down the road.

Spaces are extremely limited as very often folks choose to return again and again. Seriously, that's how much fun we have. So if you want in, send me an email real soon. Once again, the details:
